Welcome to IKOI Tokyo Bengaluru
Our Story
IKOI was born from the love story of Sara and Nithin — two curious souls who met in college and connected beyond culture. Sara, originally from Japan, fell in love not just with Nithin, but with the vibrant chaos and warmth of Indian life. Food was their common language, and baking became Sara’s way of expressing love, curiosity, and creativity.
Japanese and Indian cultures are wildly different — punctuality vs. poetic lateness, minimalism vs. masala — but they share a deep respect for elders, a fierce work ethic, and a love for feeding people. Sara embraced it all, and soon, her desserts became the talk of their friend circle.
From matcha rolls to mochi-filled buns, her creations sparked joy and surprise. Friends were mesmerised by the textures and flavours they’d never tasted before. That’s when Sara and Nithin realised: this could be something bigger.
IKOI is their passion project — a place to gather, connect, and experience the soul of Japanese food in the heart of Bengaluru.

Every dish begins with the freshest, chosen, not rushed.

Japan meets India in every bite, harmony served on a plate

Born from Sara & Nithin’s journey, where culture & flavour came together.

We slow down, so you can savour, every bake, every brew, crafted by hand.

Why IKOI?
IKOI means “gather” in Japanese & that’s our soul. We’re not just a café. We’re a cultural bridge, a flavour playground, a warm hug in edible form.
Japanese desserts that let ingredients shine
Jaggery, spices, and seasonal fruits meet matcha, mochi, and miso
Organic, clean, and cooked like we would for our own kids
No shortcuts, no compromises, just honest food made with care
Tried Ikoi last night, It's a cute Japanese Cafe with already a good spread ranging from bakes to Cafe with Matcha heavy choices. Restaurant to be opened in a few weeks time. All the best, team!
Amazing food, great ambience, and reasonable price. They've been open for nearly one week now, and I've already gone 4 times. It helps that it's near work. Can't wait for the restaurant section to open up.
